Proposed Law: police enforcement on cars in private lots

Don't you just hate it when you go to the supermarket or mall and park your car, only to find, when you return, that your car is blocked in by another car who parked like an imbecile. He probably was "running in for just a minute", or something like that, but it might take him 20 minutes in reality or 45 minutes or whatever, but he has no problem blocking other people in.

It turns out that such problems and complaints take up about 20% of the phone calls to the police hotline, 100. Unfortunately the police cannot do anything about it as they have no jurisdiction in private lots.

That might change.

MK Michael Malchieli (Shas) and MK Yaakov Peri (Yesh Atid) have proposed a law that would give police the authority to act in private lots as well - though for now this only includes private lots open to the public, such as those by malls and supermarkets, and not private lots that are really private.

I hope this will include ticketing drivers that park their cars in ways that take up multiple parking spots. As well, it will hopefully include cars that can't find desirable spots so they make up their own, often parking in driving lanes or blocking entrances.
